Sindh Journal of Linguistics is a scholarly publication of the Department of English, Sindh Madressatul Islam University, Karachi, dedicated to advancing research and critical inquiry in linguistics, language studies, and related interdisciplinary fields. This volume brings together contemporary perspectives that contribute to a deeper understanding of language, communication, identity, and linguistic practices in diverse contexts.
Sindh Journal of Linguistics (SJL) is an online scholarly annual journal, double-blind peer-reviewed, and open-access journal, published annually by the Department of English, SMI University, Karachi. The journal focuses on the studies of theoretical linguistics, descriptive linguistics, and applied linguistics. In addition to the broad area of language research, creative approaches to language learning and teaching are also involved, leading linguistics to a higher level of cognitive development. Since this journal is produced in Sindh province of Pakistan which is a widely multilingual province just like the other parts of the country, the aim of this journal is to encourage research in documentation, investigation, development, and preservation of local languages as well. Indigenous languages provide a complex multilingual context to a researcher as well as an English language practitioners, therefore, this journal welcomes rich research into the field of theoretical as well as applied linguistics.
